Brad Turner is responsible for creating and managing the strategic direction of the Benetech Global Literacy Program, including partnerships, products, services, and funding. Having helped grow both early-stage and industry-leading companies, Brad has over twenty years of experience in technology, marketing, and management. Prior to joining Benetech, he was vice president of marketing and business development at Inkiru, a big data predictive analytics platform acquired by Wal-Mart. He also served as the founder and CEO of Through the Lens, Inc., the creator of premier digital image management systems for medical practices. His career includes executive marketing and business development roles at education technology startups such as Udacity, search engine companies such as Inktomi, and networking companies such as Novell. He is known as an innovative leader who develops strong relationships and revenue sources.
Brad received his Bachelor of Arts in Management Science from the University of California, San Diego. He is an avid skier and serves in the National Ski Patrol in Sugar Bowl, CA, where he is a board member. He recently earned the National Ski Patrol Purple Merit Star and was Patroller of the Year. Brad volunteers for a number of causes, including Menlo-Atherton High School, the Sugar Bowl Ski Team and Academy, and the Portola Valley Theater Conservatory, where he also serves on the Board of Directors.
